Privacy Policy

What SeeSound does

SeeSound visualizes audio from a browser tab you select or a local audio file you open. Audio is processed on your device to draw moving patterns. The extension does not record audio, export video, or use your microphone.

Data processed on your device

SeeSound accesses the selected tab’s audio, or the contents and filename of a local audio file you choose. This audio may contain personal information; SeeSound does not identify speakers or extract personal details. Audio samples, decoded file data, frequency analysis and the displayed filename are used in memory to provide playback and visualization. The current source tab identifier is used to route capture. The extension checks the source URL scheme to determine whether capture is available, but does not maintain browsing history or store source page URLs, page text, cookies or account credentials.

Local settings and retention

Renderer and performance-overlay preferences may be saved in the extension’s local browser storage. Music-response settings remain in the current viewer session. Tab audio capture stops when you stop visualization, switch to File, close the source tab or close the viewer. Pausing playback can leave an opened local file in memory; close the viewer to release the session. No audio recording is written to storage, and your original files are not changed. You can remove locally stored preferences by clearing extension data or uninstalling SeeSound.

Transmission, sharing and limited use

SeeSound does not upload your audio, filenames, analysis results or preferences to the developer or third parties. It contains no ads, analytics or tracking, requires no SeeSound account, and does not sell user data. Its use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the visualization and playback features, not for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Permissions

activeTab is used when you invoke the extension to identify the selected source tab. tabCapture provides that tab’s audio for local visualization and playback. No host-wide website permissions, browsing-history permission or microphone permission are requested.

Support and this policy page

If you choose to email support, your email address and the contents you send will be received and used to respond to your request. Avoid sending sensitive audio or personal information unnecessarily. Visiting this separately hosted policy page may produce routine web-server logs handled by its hosting provider; this is separate from extension audio processing.
